And, yes, it looks sort of like a lemon (or an apple?), but it's a cucumber!? God, I love heirloom seeds. Who knew that a cucumber doesn't necessarily have to look like one to be one. Or something.
It has a refreshing, almost sweet cucumber flavor. A bit mellow, not too strong. While the packet states "mature fruits even have a faint lemony flavor" I didn't find it lemony (probably having to do with my First Cucumber excitement/impatience). While there are seeds, they are very tender.
Sadly, I do not have enough for the market on the 9th, but hopefully will on Saturday the 16th.

I'm excited about these, and I am not even the least bit afraid.
Hopefully with the rain and the coming heat the cucumbers will POP and I'll have enough for market! And I'll have to try not to eat them all as well...
